Step by step
Turn your antivirus off and install the runtimes
This is the same for every product and only needs doing once per PC.
- Uninstall every antivirus program. Kaspersky and Malwarebytes have to go completely - switching them off is not enough.
- Turn Windows Defender off, including real-time and tamper protection. dControl does it in one click: www.sordum.org/downloads/?st-defender-control - archive password sordum.
- Uninstall the anti-cheat of every other game: Riot Vanguard, FACEIT, ESEA, Easy Anti-Cheat, BattlEye. Remove the folders too.
- Install the Visual C++ Redistributables, all versions: www.techpowerup.com/download/visual-c-redistributable-runtime-package-all-in-one/ - unzip it and run install_all.bat as administrator.
- Install the DirectX End-User Runtime from microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35 - run it as administrator.
- Install .NET Framework 4.8 or newer from dotnet.microsoft.com/download/dotnet-framework/net48 - run it as administrator.
- Restart the PC once everything is installed.
Set up the BIOS
The loader will not run without these three. Set them before anything else.
- Secure Boot: off
- Virtualisation: on (VT-x on Intel, SVM on AMD)
- Hyper-V: on
- Your BIOS has to be UEFI, not Legacy, and your Windows disk has to be GPT with its 100 MB EFI partition.
Turn Windows protection off completely
Windows flags the loader as malware. That is a false positive - every kernel-level injector triggers it - but all four layers have to be off before you inject.
- Virus & threat protection: every switch off.
- Firewall & network protection: off for all three network types (domain, private, public).
- App & browser control: all four switches under Reputation-based protection off.
- Core Isolation / Memory Integrity: off, then restart.
Register your key
Register on the Seryx site with the key from your order. You need your Discord ID and your hardware ID - the HWID tool for that is linked on the registration page.
Download your build
Sign in to the dashboard and download. Your build is compiled for you and tied to your hardware. Confirm the browser warning with Keep. Have Steam running and signed in while you set this up.
Never pass your build on. It is tied to your licence, and sharing it means a permanent ban.
Run the loader and let it restart the PC
Right-click the loader and choose Run as administrator. It picks up your hardware ID by itself, there is nothing to paste. The PC then restarts once - that is the driver being installed, and it only happens the first time.
Let the restart finish properly. Interrupting it causes the Load Hypervisor error.
Start Rust
Open the loader as administrator again, pick Rust, and turn the Discord in-game overlay on (Discord > Settings > Game Overlay). Start Rust once the loader says it is ready.
If you get an InitWindow error, turn the overlay back off and open a ticket - the developer's own pages contradict each other on this one.
TROUBLESHOOTING
- "Driver Error" or "Load Driver Error"
- Run the Driver Fix Error file in the cheat folder as administrator. Then open CMD as administrator and run: reg add HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\CI\Config /v "VulnrableDriverBlocklistEnable" /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f - then check Secure Boot is off, Core Isolation is off, and FACEIT and Vanguard are gone.
- "Load Hypervisor Error"
- The restart did not complete. Go through the setup again and let the PC reboot fully.
- "EFI Incorrectly Installed" or "Disk Style MBR"
- Your Windows disk has to be disk 0, GPT, with a 100 MB EFI partition. MBR has to be converted to GPT.
- "BIOS Unsupported"
- Your BIOS is in Legacy mode. Switch it to UEFI.
- "BIOS Error"
- Put your motherboard model into the registry under HARDWARE\DESCRIPTION\System\BIOS\BaseBoardProduct.
- "Black Screen on Initialization"
- Disable TPM in the BIOS.
- "VCRuntime140 missing"
- Install the Visual C++ Redistributable x64.
- "DirectX" or "D3D" errors
- Install the DirectX runtime.
- "Bad Image Error"
- Copy libcrypto-1_1-x64.dll and libssl-1_1-x64.dll from the loader folder into C:\Windows\System32 and into C:\Windows\INF.
- "Internet Error"
- Restart your router. If that does not help, use a VPN.
- Loader will not launch, or "16-bit application"
- Defender real-time protection off, third-party antivirus fully removed, firewall off. Then try again with a VPN.
- "Serial Number Changed"
- Open a ticket with us - this one needs the developer.
HARDWARE CHANGED
Get your new hardware ID with the HWID tool from the Seryx site, then submit a reset request in the dashboard under Settings. Resets need moderator approval and usually take a few hours.

Prepare Windows once
Four settings, and the loader works on the first try. You only do this once per PC.
Add an exclusion for the folder you keep the loader in.
- Windows Security → Virus & threat protection
- Manage settings → Add or remove exclusions
- Add the folder, not the file — the loader replaces itself when it updates
Turn off Core isolation.

Install the runtimes the loader needs.
- Visual C++ 2015–2022, both x64 and x86
- The current DirectX end-user runtime
Set your keyboard layout to English (UK or US). On other layouts the loader reads some key characters wrong.
Close the anti-cheats of other games while you play: Vanguard, Easy Anti-Cheat, FACEIT, BattlEye, ESEA. They watch the same memory the loader writes to.
