What anti-cheat does FiveM use?

FiveM is protected on two levels. The FiveM client ships with Adhesive, the anti-cheat of Cfx.re, and a ban from that level is a CFX global ban that locks you out of every server. On top of that, many servers run their own anti-cheat, such as WaveShield, and a server ban only applies where it was issued.

The two kinds of FiveM ban

The table shows who issues each ban and how far it reaches. Cfx.re describes the global side in its own ban FAQ: the banned account is shut out of FiveM and RedM, and every server it tries to join shows that it is globally banned and for how long.

Both kinds remember your hardware, not just your account. A hardware ban locks out your PC, so a new account on the same machine runs into the same ban.

What to do after a FiveM ban

  1. Find out which ban it isA global ban stops you on every server. A server ban only stops you on one, so joining a different server tells you which you have.
  2. Spoof the hardwareA HWID spoofer changes the identifiers the ban is tied to. The spoofers in our FiveM products clear CFX global bans and server bans, and the spoof is temporary: run it again after every reboot. More in the HWID spoofer guide.
  3. Use a fresh accountA spoofed PC still needs a new game account, and for FiveM it has to be a Social Club account that owns GTA V: a fresh free account is not enough. See FiveM Ready Accounts.
  4. Match the cheat to the serverServer anti-cheats differ, so a cheat has to keep up with each one. Seryx keeps bypasses for Adhesive and WaveShield tracked per server, and Susano carries per-anticheat bypass entries. Eulen says plainly that it does not work against every server.

Anti-cheats from other games
